The Icknield Way Path is part of the route that claims to be the oldest road in Britain, running from Lyme Regis in Dorset to Cromer in Norfolk. The route starts with the Wessex Ridgeway, which joins the Ridgeway National Trail. The Icknield Way starts at Ivinghoe Beacon near Tring (at the end of the Ridgeway) finishes at Knettishall Heath near Thetford where it joins Peddars Way, which runs to the Norfolk Coast Path to complete the trail.
